I was watching larry king last night and it had several finicial advisors on there saying the president will announce today how much of a extra tax credit we will get. They are talking about giving $500-$1000. I was wondering how this would work? Is it per a person filing or per a household. I’m wondering because I live with my parents currently. So would me, my dad and my mom all get this credit since we are filing taxes or is it based per a household? Thanks for any advice you can give me on this.

My wife and I are first time homebuyers. We are thinking of buying a house that is around $150,000. Would we get the full $8,000 tax credit, or just a percentage of the house value? I read somewhere that it is only 10%, which would mean only $1,500 in tax credit. That’s not really enough to make us take the plunge. Sorry about the math, I meant 1%. Not 10%

If I were to install a new heat system eligible for the tax credit how do I see that. Do you have to go long form or anything like that? I need the credit if I get the new heat system. Thank you Judy! The link provided the information I wanted.

Which tax form should I use to receive the recently passed tax credit?

I do not file taxes as I receive less than required to do so. Which form do I need to use in order to qualify for the recently passed tax credit offered as part of the economic stimulus plan?

We only pay about 5k in federal taxes each year – I know that it needs to be finalised before we can apply this tax credit. We are not looking to adopt a special needs child either.
